Cookie was an extremely timid dog when she moved into her foster home but now she has blossomed into a loving, playful, and happy young dog. Cookie has a disposition as sweet as, well, a cookie. She is still shy around strangers and may be that way for the rest of her life. But with her trusted family she comes out of her shell to be a wonderful part of the
family. Cookie's foster home doesn't have children, but she would do fine
with a young family. She gets along well with other dogs and probably
would love to live in a home with another dog. If you like to walk, hike,
or run, Cookie would be an excellent companion. She loves to hike on
mountain trails, run on Blackwater Creek, or walk through the neighborhood.
If you're a longer distance hiker or runner, she regularly walks or runs up
to 8 miles without getting tired. Although she loves to go for walks she's
not yet learned to heel while on leash. When she moves into her new home
she may revert to her timidity again. Her new parents will need to be very
patient for the first week to let Cookie adjust to her new home and learn
to trust her new parents.
